HITCHIN - Wednesdays
Andy and Lindsay teach 2 evenings a week, each offering 3 levels from absolute beginner to intermediate plus - Tuesdays in Milton Keynes and Wednesdays in Hitchin. They are both drop in classes - no advance booking necessary.
With attentive and supportive tuition, our weekly classes are a fun and lively way to learn Lindy Hop. With frequent partner rotation you will enjoy a very sociable evening whilst you develop your steps and techniques.

We actively encourage you to practice the principles taught in class during the social dancing between each level and following level 3. Being able to dance with lots of different Leads or Follows is an excellent way to progress in Lindy Hop.

We teach three classes per week each lasting approximately 40 minutes., which allows for 10 minutes of practice or rest between classes. We recommend people do only 2 classes - this offers you plenty of tuition and helps you enjoy the social dancing.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Weekly classes have a drop-in or pay-as-you-go format. You come along whenever you can and only pay for the lessons you attend. This gives you the flexibility of attending every week or as regularly as you can if you have other commitments. You will get great value for money without paying for a class that you can't attend. For each of the weekly classes, you can attend one class level for £5 or two or more levels for only £8!
It seems like stating the obvious but the more often you can attend the classes, the quicker you will progress. Regular attendance will have you swinging-out and sugar-pushing in no time.

DO I NEED TO COME ALONG WITH A PARTNER?
Partners are not required! You can attend on your own, with a friend or group or indeed with a partner! Our classes are very sociable and everyone dances with everyone. However, if you have a preference for only dancing with your partner and wish to stay together in the classes, that is perfectly fine too. After your first couple of visits we would encourage you to join the partner rotation as this will improve your understanding of how to be a Lead or a Follow in Lindy Hop.

CAN I STAY FOR THE SOCIAL DANCING EVEN IF I DON'T PARTICIPATE IN THE LEVEL 3 CLASS?
Of course you can! We have a very friendly group of dancers who enjoy dancing with all levels. You will consolidate all you have learned in the classes during social dancing. We can highly recommend social dancing, both to improve your Lindy Hop and to feel good.

WHEN SHOULD I START?
As soon as you can! Our flexible syllabus is designed to cover all the basics of Lindy Hop without the need for consecutive weekly attendance. When sharing our expertise with each class level, we take great care to ensure our explanations are accessible to all in that level. So even if it is your very first Lindy Hop lesson, you should find level 1 easy to follow. If you are particularly concerned about attending your first class, we recommend starting on the first week of any month when level 1 pace will be very gentle, and other new starters are more likely to be present.

WHEN SHOULD I ATTEMPT LEVEL 2?
For complete beginners we recommend attending just Level 1 for the first couple of months. This should result in you heading out the door with a confident spring in your step and a smile on your face. Usually attending levels 1 and 2 on your first visit results in a bit of a dazed look. The start of a new calendar month is a good time to consider trying level 2 for the first time. If you attend classes every week then it is possible you will feel ready for level 2 after only one month, but more likely two or three months. Ask yourself - did you feel relaxed all the way through level 1?

AND WHAT ABOUT LEVEL 3?
The step-up to Level 3 is more challenging. We strongly recommend staying at Level 2 and perfecting those techniques before making the leap up to Level 3. This can take up to a year or more, but your patience and hard work will be rewarded as establishing your core technique will significantly help your progress for years to come. Feel free to ask Andy or Lindsay for their opinion as to whether or not you are ready.
Once you have made the leap to level 3, we would much prefer you to stick around for the social dancing afterwards than wear yourself out doing all three levels.

If you simply cannot wait to challenge yourself with our Level 3 classes, why not accelerate your learning with some of our Private Lessons? We can tailor make the sessions to help you achieve your dance goals
